Lucas Ridge Farms is a small U-Pick berry farm along the edge of where Estacada and Oregon City intersect. Our farm encompasses three generations of the Lucas family working together to make our serene property a productive farm and a tranquil retreat.
We aim to provide a unique experience to those who visit our farm. You can come to Lucas Ridge Farms to pick blueberries, however blueberries alone are not the only reason you choose to visit our special space.
As with many families, 2020 was instrumental to altering our life trajectory. April 2020 brought us a blessing in disguise. After being laid off from his employer of 28 years, Scott decided not to return to his previous career path. Scott pitched his ideas and we all came along for the ride. We searched endlessly to find the ideal property to marry this dream with reality.
After purchasing the property and moving into our multigenerational home, we began the process of mapping out spaces to plant. We worked with a grower to source our blueberries and prepped the fields for planting. We then rounded up our closest friends and extended family to help us plant our fields during the hottest weeks of the summer.
Our tribe heeded the call and with hours of labor and lots of sweat, we planted nearly 2000 blueberry bushes in 2021 along with another 600 bushes in 2022. Our current varieties include Dukes, Patriot, Blu-Ray, and Reka blueberries.
While we originally had long term goals of wanting to start a small farm, we thought our farming future would begin closer to our retirement years. Here we are, living the dream.
We believe that a business has a responsibility to its community. We invest in the future of our community and continue to support organizations promoting a positive impact on agricultural businesses like ours.
